7 June, 2025

On June 7th, 2025, ÄDKN brought the spirit of Eid al-Adha (Opferfest) to life with a cheerful community gathering at Marienbergpark in Nuremberg. Known as one of the most important festivals in the Muslim world, Eid al-Adha has long become a celebration that unites not only Muslims, but the entire Egyptian community – regardless of religious background.

Our aim was twofold: to help Egyptians in Germany feel the familiar warmth of home during this special occasion, and to introduce the meaning and joy of Eid to our German friends and neighbors. It was a beautiful day filled with connection, culture, and celebration.

A Simple Picnic with a Big Heart

At Marienbergpark, near the volleyball court, families and friends met up with their own food, drinks, blankets, and a few balls for games. Some grilled, some played football, and others just sat together and talked. It was a relaxed and friendly afternoon, where everyone helped make it a nice gathering – similar to how we celebrate back in Egypt.

A Celebration to Remember

We thank everyone who joined us – whether they came to celebrate, to learn, or simply to spend a joyful afternoon together.
Eid al-Adha with ÄDKN was more than just a gathering – it was a moment of unity, tradition, and new connections.

Join us for more cultural events where the Egyptian and German communities come together – with warmth, openness, and shared stories.
